For its first participation in 1-54 Marrakech, Hunna Art proposes a duo show of Amina Yahia (b.2000, Egypt) and Maissane Alibrahimi (b.1999, France-Morocco), two artists whose practices intersect at the critical examination of social, cultural, and environmental dynamics. While Yahia delves into the pressing issues of migration, displacement, and the lingering effects of colonialism, Alibrahimi navigates the complexities of identity, gender, and cultural resistance. Both artists, through their distinct yet complementary approaches, confront the systemic forces that shape and, at times, constrain the lives of marginalized communities. Their works collectively challenge the viewer to reconsider the narratives of power, control, and the resilience of those who exist within and beyond these structures.
