Reem R. is a Palestinian painter based between Doha and Dubai, whose work dwells in the tension between what is real and what is perceived. Over the past few years, her practice has focused on trompe l’oeil, exploring the fragility of perception and using illusion as both a method and a metaphor.
Using faded memories, familiar objects, and personal symbols, she reconstructs them with meticulous detail to evoke what has been lost, altered, or remembered differently. This process becomes her way of documenting moments, memories, and the shifting spaces between them.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Design from the American University of Sharjah in 2017. Her first solo exhibition, Lilies, was held at Bayt Al Mamzar in Dubai (2024), followed by her second solo show, Feels Like Yesterday, at Hunna Art Gallery in Kuwait (2025). Her artwork has been exhibited across the Arabian Peninsula—especially in the UAE and Qatar—and internationally in France, Croatia, Morocco, South Africa, Spain, and the USA. She has participated in artist residencies at Bayt Al Mamzar (2024) and the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi (2025), and has been commissioned by leading cultural and corporate clients.
