Hunna Art is pleased to participate in the inaugural Art Week Riyadh with a solo exhibition of Joud Fahmy (b. 1994, Saudi Arabia).
Organized by the Visual Arts Commission under the Ministry of Culture, Art Week Riyadh celebrates Saudi Arabia’s vibrant art scene bringing together leading local and international galleries, cultural institutions, and arts entities under the overarching theme, At The Edge. Drawing on the past and present as points of departure, it aims to reimagine an interconnected global arts ecosystem that contributes to Saudi Arabia’s creative economy while inspiring the preservation of art collecting and patronage.
Joud Fahmy’s practice involves exploring women's voices and expression through the translation of concepts such as family dynamics and gender roles into tangible works of mixed-media sculptures and audio-visual productions. She is interested in initiating dialogues between the traditional and modern and her artwork aims to transcend societal barriers and limitations by being a catalyst for shifting meaning and reshaping culture.
Art Week curatorial team: artistic director and curator Vittoria Matarrese, associate curators Basma Harasani and Victoria Gandit Lelandais and curator of the public programme, Shumon Basar.
Art Week Riyadh will run from 6 - 13 April 2025.
