'This image holds a contradiction. At first glance, it’s soft and celestial but at its center is the pink oleander, a colonial import introduced by Charles Belgrave, the British Advisor to Bahrain’s rulers (1926–1957) and a passionate gardener. Known locally as the ‘Advisor’s Flower,’ the oleander is toxic, yet ornamental. Familiar, yet foreign. I wanted to capture that quiet violence. How something imposed can become naturalized, even beloved, without us questioning why it’s here. I was thinking about beauty as a kind of camouflage and about the ghosts that still live in our gardens.'
Hunna Art’s limited edition prints are produced in close collaboration with our represented artists, extending their practices into accessible, museum-quality formats.
Each edition is printed using archival pigment inks on German Etching 310 GSM paper which is a heavyweight, textured paper favored for its depth, tactility, and ability to hold rich, nuanced color. These prints are not mere reproductions, but carefully crafted editions that maintain the integrity and intentionality of the original work.
Editions are strictly limited, hand-numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and invoice. They are conceived as collectible works in their own right, an entry point into collecting that balances accessibility with curatorial and material rigor.
Our prints are made by Paperhouse, a Kuwait based artist-led studio specializing in fine art printing, giclée printing and bookmaking.
