Abeer Sultan Saudi Arabia, b. 1999
Abeer Sultan (b. 1999) is a visual artist based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Digital Media from Princess Noura University in 2021 and her Master's in Museum Studies from SOAS University of London in 2025. Sultan works between moving images, poetry, textiles, and installations.
Abeer has participated in several group exhibitions, showcasing her work both locally and internationally. Notable exhibitions include "Time heals, not quick enough" at Efie Gallery, Dubai (2025), “Strange Familiar, Familiar Strange” at Intermix x POUSH, Paris (2024), “In The Night” at the Saudi Arabian Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMOCA), Riyadh (2024), and the “Refracted Identities, Shared Futures” exhibition at the Noor Riyadh Festival (2023-2024). Her work has also been featured in “Tales of Nostalgia” at the Misk Art Institute (2022-2023) and the “New Wave” Misk Art Institute exhibition in collaboration with the Berlin Art Institute (2022).
In addition to her exhibition work, Abeer has participated in several artist residencies, including Delfina in London (2026), Intermix Art Residency at POUSH in Paris (2024), the BAI Art Program at the Berlin Art Institute (2023).
Her creative output has been recognised with awards, including a shortlist for the Hayy Jameel Facade in Jeddah (2023) and winning the 48 Hours Film Challenge at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah (2020).
