Alymamah Rashed Kuwaiti , b. 1994
Alymamah Rashed is a Kuwaiti visual artist whose practice is rooted in spiritualism, exploring how the body can occupy its surrounding environment and how it can also inhabit itself across different points in time—past, present, and future.
In her work, the body multiplies and reemerges with each piece, creating new presences in collaboration with the natural world, from seashells and botanical finds to tactile landscapes and signifiers within Kuwait and through her travels. Her practice also negotiates female subjectivity in relation to regional folklore and everyday objects, fluctuating between perspectives of the east and west.
Alymamah received her MFA in Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design in 2019 and her BFA in Fine Arts at The School of Visual Arts in 2016. She has exhibited internationally in Paris, Spain, Dubai, and beyond, with presentations at major fairs including Art Dubai (various years), Abu Dhabi Art, Art Paris, and MENA Art. In 2025, she collaborated with Christian Dior on the prestigious Lady Dior Art Project and with Piaget for Art Dubai. She is a recipient of the Masters Scholarship and the Merit Scholarship program by the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education, and a fellow of the Professional Development Initiative Program sponsored by the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education, Embassy of Kuwait, and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. Alymamah’s work has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Vogue Arabia, Architectural Digest, Farfetch, The Visionary Project, and other international platforms.
